Dear Paras,

I write in a state of revelation from an era of an egalitarian existence where I look around myself at a world that works on trust, love, compassion, kindness and humanity. This delightful world today now stands free of discrimination and disparity.

Looking back, I feel that we were riding into a valley amputating the environment and the rights of the younger generation. Nothing is as important as the environment, I feel. My generation noticed the dark side of the Earth and realised that it had to be nurtured, the way we had been, once by her. It is astounding to see how my generation has reshaped the world today. Climate change, perceived as triviality then, is considered extremely significant today. In fact, we have created a balance where saving and protecting the environment is not detrimental to the economy, but where both nature and the economy complement each other.

Ten years ago, we had cast a shadow of greed and materialism, but having restored the mindset of this generation to normalcy has transformed the world into a haven. Today we have moulded this planet into a generous and a compassionate platform. Most of the population has an urbanized mindset. People who require four walls have been given one by their governments regardless of their job and position in the society. Women welfare and gender equality is a dominant feature where both, men and women stand shoulder to shoulder in every walk of life with a vision that works on common goals. It isn’t anymore about feminism or dealing with, ‘them’ finding a place for their gender. We now have a world that looks up to the essential need for the presence of both in this cosmic space. As Shakespeare had said that all the world’s a stage and each one of us have a role to play, a unique one.

Infant mortality is a kingpin aspect for every country as they are the generation who will guard and make the future prosper. We have ensured that even in the remotest part of the planet, which is almost negligible, there is no shortage of medical resources, education and hygiene.

One of the salient features of the world is the need for the civil rights embedded in the heart of every community. Public transport, legal systems and basic modes of communication, a predominant factor can be beneficial to both man and nature. Cars, trains and buses have reduced in massive numbers. Hyperloop is the new technology in reducing greenhouse gases. This is a programme for which the government has taken care of hygiene and sanitation executed regularly and efficiently to make public transport alluring, economical and feasible.

The world has become renewable. Fossil fuels are diminishing, but since we were enslaved and surrounded by them, we have not been able to fully evolve out of it. Individuals have taken up small initiative towards the environment by switching to electric cars and running their houses on solar energy. This has impacted the environment in an immense way. Use of Geothermal Energy by installing power plants in some countries is a systematic start to make renewable energy prosper. I sometimes wonder had the previous generation taken such steps sooner, the world would not have had to experience pain. The Corona virus, SARS and Spanish flu would not have emerged and created havoc in our lives. The lives lost were futile and the world would have been a better place to live in.

My field of work is related to ‘Geothermal Energy’ where I endeavour to develop a mechanism to generate power using heat from ground source. As a Geothermal scientist I have been able to amalgamate energy from hot springs and molten lava present in the core of the earth to generate and store power as viable and carbon free alternate and hence they call me a ‘Change Maker’.

I end my letter by quoting Mahatma Gandhi, “When I wake up, I am reborn.” which is to say that change is the only constant in life.

Wishing you a happy, safe and sound life.

Yours lovingly,

Paras.
